Meet Your Neighbor: Joe Hummel
Joe Hummel energetically embraces life. After working for Dearborn Chemical in Chemical Sales and Service, Joe retired and has spent the last 16 years doing “whatever he wants.” He loves spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever possible as well as being extremely active.
Finding Joe any time before noon is virtually impossible and not because he is snoozing! Everyday, he is up at 5:00 am to lift weights, and then he is out riding his bicycle for at least an hour. Occasionally, you might find Joe in the afternoon in the library, reading, catching up on the news. listening to his huge collection of music DVDs or enjoying the classics. Typically though, if you want to find Joe, you’ll need to look outside again, because he’s likely back on his bike. You might say he is a “fitness fanatic.”
Why did Joe choose the Apartment Community? The stairs in his duplex were getting to be a bit too much and his children wanted him to move into a one-story apartment. The Apartment Community not only offered that, but also allowed him live independently on beautiful grounds, which is so important to a guy who loves to be outside!
Joe's sister also lives here. They meet for dinner every night, and they don’t have to fight over who has to do the dishes!
